If you are a fan of history or have read a Dan Brown book you will know that Paris is full of interesting symbols. Some of them are more obvious than others and some are also hard to find. Upon taking a stroll in Parc Monceau, we stumbled upon this stone pyramid. Hit the jump for the full story.
The park was built by Philippe d’Orléans stating in 1769. The park is full of relics from past civilizations and this pyramid could be seen as an homage to Egypt except that Philippe d’Orléans was a Freemason and this pyramid was used for initiations and other ceremonies most likely in the middle of the night. Unfortunately for Philippe d’Orléans, the revolution caught up to him and he lost his head. His son Louis Philippe did make a strong come back and became king of France, the last person to ever hold that title.
